Overview
Brushstrokes and Footsteps is a dynamic, practical CPD workshop for psychotherapists, counsellors, and mental health professionals who want to integrate creative techniques into their clinical practice.
Over four hours, you’ll explore accessible methods from Art Therapy and Dance Movement Therapy (DMT) — learning how to invite image, gesture, and movement into the therapeutic relationship in ways that deepen emotional expression and open new pathways of communication.
This is an experiential and skills-based training that strikes a balance between creativity and clinical clarity. You’ll leave with tools you can use immediately and a deeper understanding of when, why, and how to employ them safely and effectively.
What You’ll Learn
Through guided demonstrations and hands-on practice, you will:
Explore the role of symbol, image, and movement in accessing the unspoken.
Learn simple Art Therapy techniques that facilitate expression beyond words.
Experiment with Dance Movement Therapy approaches to embodied awareness and emotional release.

Reflect on your own responses and the meaning that emerges from image and movement.
